Basic Makeup tips - look glamorous this season!!

Hey Girls. How is winter showing up on your skin? Are you looking more fair and glamorous or dark and boring? Share with us the makeup look you are carrying these days and we will tell you minor tweaks that you can do to make it glamorous. I can't carry one look for a long time. For me, Change is the law of life :) For instance, my current look as I write this blog. Read on..

1. After washing & moisturizing my face. I start with a concealer under my eyes. I find it very important. Blend well and then I put powder foundation from Bellapiere cosmetics. Its a thick powder and works like a face base without putting on layers of liquid or creme foundation. This one balances your skin tone well.

2. Next I move to my eyes... Black kajal is all that I am using these days.I take a smudger brush and smudge the kajal only around the outer corner of my eyes and make it broader, it gives my eyes a beautiful shape.

3. Mascara - These days my favorite is Lash Attack by MeMeMe cosmetics - Its a lengthening mascara, makes my eye lashes look longer and beautiful.

4. Blusher - I never leave home without a blusher in winters. One reason is because we dont sweat. A blusher also helps in contouring your cheeks if applied correctly. My favorite is Beauty UK - their blushers come with a shiny glow that looks lovely when you want to highlight your cheeks. Try their baked blushes - candy shop, royal rose, baked peach.

5. Lips - Use a lip liner - always and fill your lips with liner because when the lipstick comes off the liner doesnt stand out. Fill your lips with your lipstick color using a brush so you dont spoil the liner and do not go out of your lips. Lip Gloss is a must if your not wearing a liquid glossy color lipstick already. I know that some of us face a big challenge when it comes to picking up the right blush. Makeup Artist Shweta recommends choosing a blush color that goes well with your skin tone. If you are fair skin, remember lighter is better. The job of your blush is to give you a healthy glow. It is meant to be a natural and subtle looking makeup. If you fall in the category of medium skin tone, the best colors for you are rosey pink and deep peaches. For Darker Skin, you could use colors from rose to deep oranges.

Next, choose a big fluffy brush for blush application. And keep it different from your powder brush. A layer of powder will help your blush go on uniformly on your skin and last longer. Expertly applied blush can shape and define your face, creating the illusion of cheekbones that don’t exist and it’s easier to do than you think J ! Two Tone lipstick – Would you wear it?

If you like to be more bold with your makeup, the two –tone lip trend is right what you want to do. That’s what Tom Pecheux created for MAC cosmetics at the Emanuel Ungaro show. Look at the picture below. I think its pretty much do-able. Except that you can’t be wearing it at work. You will be making quite a statement if worn at a party though.

Makeup India recommends you to keep the rest of your look neutral..so just avoid wearing too much make up on face or eye make up. This look can be created with any two colors, preferably from the same family. Just an example, the hot fuchsia and orange looks pretty glam in the picture.

By the way, I was going around checking out new make up for lips at Inglot – I find these makeup shops so attractive and irresistible ;). Anyway so Inglot has come out with really different multi colored glosses.. I did try them on my lips and they looked stunning and very fashionable.  I decided to wear it all along my shopping time.. I realized, all eyes were on me carrying this wild fashion J

Its already mid-week and we are bored with the same old nude look for office each day..Need to do new make up for office? Make up India recommends doing natural make up for the month of July. For your eye makeup  - Use Pale pink and light purple. Double color effects will draw attention to eyes. Lids should be coated in sugary sweet pale hues highlighted with whitened matte shadows.

Lip color should be subtle with pale pink hues, which should be worn to give lustrous effect to lips. Use barely-there lip colors from MAC to balance eyes.

Enhance the purity of the look with cheeks delicately defined with very pale luminous blush in hues of pale pinks.

My Make up blog!

I started in 2010, way too excited about nails. It was like I wanted to paint every set of 10 i saw around me..square, round, short or long. Wherever I saw a new color I went back and check my collection if I had them. I'd get so attracted with colors that I had a different color painted on all 4 walls of my bedroom.


Atlast, It was the colors that I was passionate about. Colors - that we not noticingly relate with our moods, our styles, our character. My friend riya for instance loves the pink color so much that she doesnt mind being called Pinky/pinku/pink for a change.


Ahhh.. I didnt mean to write a boring blog and bore you people with something you wouldn't wana know..the fact that it is midnight and I am trying to wake up the writer in me...with failed attempts all I wanted to say was ..this is it! I love colors.. love wearing them and love to play with them. With that I became a makeup artist..making people beautiful with colors..Before I go non stop, there are endless things I want to write about..my learning about best products, what is right and what is wrong makeup..the colors for summer and what to wear in winter..why should you let go off your kajal pencil..blah blah blah..
